Rollon announces the launch of its redesigned ball-screw-driven TV actuators, featuring enhancements aimed at increasing moment load capacity, protection and overall performance.
Available in sizes 65, 80 and 110, the TV line is designed for precise and repeatable motion across a range of industrial applications.
The redesign increases the moment-load capacity of the actuators. The two linear guide blocks are positioned at the maximum possible distance from each other, with the ball screw nut located between them, creating a wider support span to accommodate higher moment loads.
Protection of the internal components has also been enhanced with the introduction of a polyurethane sealing belt, a proven solution already used across other Rollon actuator lines. The belt protects the ball screw drive and linear guide system from contaminants and is kept in position by micro-bearings inside the carriage. This configuration minimizes resistance as the belt passes through the carriage while maintaining effective protection of the internal components.
The redesigned TV actuators are available with different ball screw leads, providing greater flexibility to meet varying speed and load requirements. Additionally, for longer strokes, an optional internal ball screw support helps reduce shaft deflection, enabling higher operating speeds.
TV actuators are suitable for a wide range of applications requiring precise, repeatable linear motion, particularly in industrial automation, packaging and robotics.
"This redesign marks an important evolution of the TV series, with a focus on increasing moment load capacity while providing greater protection for the actuator's internal components," says Andrea Tosi, Chief Technology Officer at Rollon. "By optimising the carriage architecture and introducing the new sealing system, we have enhanced the performance and reliability of the series to better address the requirements of demanding automation applications."
Ball screw technology for precise linear motion
The TV actuator range combines a rigid construction with high precision and reliability, making it suitable for demanding linear motion applications. Its linear rail with two preloaded recirculating ball bearing blocks, together with the square cross section, provides a rigid guidance system, while positioning repeatability reaches 5 um.
Reliability over time is also supported by dedicated lubrication channels for both the linear rail and ball screw, facilitating maintenance of the unit.
With its redesigned architecture, the TV series gives machine designers greater flexibility to meet the precision, load and speed requirements of different automation applications.
