Safety light curtains require cabling on one side only
ifm electronic is launching safety light curtains that require cabling on one side only, which greatly simplifies installation. The system consists of a transmitter/receiver unit on one side and a passive reflector on the other. So far three versions have been announced by ifm for protecting areas 0-6m wide with two, three or four light beams.
These units are designed to the following standards: Type 4 (IEC 61496-1), SIL 3 (IEC 61508), SILcl 3 (IEC 62061), PL e (EN ISO 13849-1).
