The system description for the safety Ethernet system SafetyNET p is now available. It provides possible products with SafetyNET p, making Ethernet technology also useful for industrial automation. The reason for developing modern fieldbus systems is to make use of the advantages Ethernet provides. In comparison to today's fieldbus systems, Ethernet is too complex in its present state. The demand on individual elements within the manufacturing plant is rising - for example, cycle times, accuracy or frequency of measurements, volume of data and processor performance. For an automation system, this means that the productive capacity of the processor computer and communication must be able to meet the increasing requirements.
