Schaeffler wins prestigious award from Vestas

Vestas is a technological leader and one of the largest manufacturers in the wind turbine sector. The award given to Schaeffler is named after Vestas' company strategy: 'Best Support to Profitable Growth.' Vestas recognises its suppliers annually in three different supplier awards categories. In the Best Support to Profitable Growth category, Vestas honours the supplier that provides the best support in helping it to achieve profitable growth.

Schaeffler was presented with the award in mid-June 2016 at the Vestas Supplier Conference. Dr Stefan Spindler, Schaeffler Executive Board member responsible for the Industrial business, was delighted to receive the award, saying: "This award honours the work of many Schaeffler employees - from product development and the entire supply chain, up to key account management and in the various countries where we provide personal assistance, as well as develop and manufacture products for Vestas. We look forward to further developing this excellent co-operation in the future."

Schaeffler supplies Vestas primarily with special spherical roller bearings for supporting the rotor shaft in 2MW and 3MW wind turbines. As one of the world's leading manufacturers of rolling bearing and a development partner to the wind turbine industry, Schaeffler has been producing bearings for wind turbines for more than 30 years.
