Servocell has all but completed development of its AL2 Active Latch piezo-based locking technology and is scheduled to commence production in October 2008. With its low power consumption and climatic resistance, the AL2 is expected to prove that Servocell's technology is 'the best and most flexible in the market', according to the company.
A more recent innovation is the development of a range of complete 'Lock in a Box' products based on the AL2. Initially Servocell is launching two versions of the product: the carcass-mounted lock for cabinets and drawers; and the cam lock for locker and enclosure applications.
The Servocell range is claimed to be unique in providing intelligent, battery-powered security that can be fitted to cabinets or enclosures in any environment - either at the point of manufacturing, or retrofitted to existing cabinets.
These new products have been very well received in a recent test marketing campaign and mean that customers can add electronic locking to their products in much shorter timescales.
The locks come complete with integrated batteries and an iButton access control, offering over 50,000 operations between battery changes. In addition, the 5V and 12V versions enable the locks to be connected to any alternative industry-standard access control system. They are also network-capable and options include audit control to provide a complete facility to track and trace who has used the lock.
Servocell's range of Cabinet Locks will be available from a network of distributor partners or directly from Servocell with the CL Carcass available from November 2008, followed by the Cam Lock in early 2008.
