SMP launches new website
SMP Sintermetalle Prometheus has a new website. Based near Karlsruhe, Germany, SMP develops and manufactures inductive components and magnetically soft materials, cores and mouldings. The components are used in power electronics, drives, power generation and instrumentation and control. Typical applications include inverters for photovoltaic and wind turbine installations, as well as rail vehicles.
SMP's product range includes low-loss inductive components, such as filters, commutating, step-up converters, power recovery and single-conductor chokes. All SMP components are manufactured to customer specifications using in-house developed powder composites. The data sheets available on the website provide examples for standard designs; the requirements for specific applications can be entered onto an online enquiry form. For samples and tests, SMP maintains a range of standard parts that can be supplied on request.
SMP supplies chokes and filters for frequencies up to 200kHz and current ratings up to 1000amperes, with component sizes ranging from 36 to 300mm diameter and weights from 50g to 130kg. To allow for a wide range of requirements, components are available with various protection types, such as IP20 and IP65. All SMP products are RoHS- and WEEE-compliant and the materials used are UL-listed.
