Solderless crimp terminals cut the cost of connections
A new range of pre-insulated, solderless Euro-Crimp terminals and splices from Tyco Electronics provides reliable, low-cost and easy terminations for wire sizes 0.5sqr "" 6.0sqr (22AWG "" 10AWG).
Euro-Crimp terminals and splices consist of a precision-formed metal wire barrel insulated with PVC and benefit from a continuous maximum operating temperature of +75degC. The devices are designed for single applications featuring solid or stranded wire. The insulation enables the insertion of wires with a maximum voltage rating of up to 600V.
The colour-coded vinyl insulation by wire size of all Euro-Crimp terminals and splices enables easy identification. In addition, terminals are marked with the respective wire size range on the tongue. Serrations inside the wire barrel provide maximum contact and tensile strength after crimping. Terminals suitable for mounting accept stud sizes M3 through to M12.
Euro-crimp terminals and splices are available loose for terminating with manual handheld tools and come packed either in bulk or resealable dispensing plastic containers for in-field installation. All common versions of the components are UL-listed under File E13288, with full CSA and VDE approvals expected towards the end of the second quarter of 2008.
