Splined shafts available in very large sizes
Abssac is now supplying large splined shafts - one recent order was for a shaft 150mm in diameter with eight splines along its 2m length and weighing 250kg.
In this case the shaft was manufactured from EN24T steel, though the customer did not have any technical drawings from which Abssac could work. The only information available was that gathered from the broken and distorted sample supplied following a catastrophic failure at the paper mill. Abssac successfully replicated the part and delivered it ready to fit into the repaired machine.
Standard splined shafts are available from Abssac in diameters from 11-46mm with six or eight splines. In addition, a full range of flanged steel or bronze sleeves is available to complement the splines. Standard lengths of 250, 500, 1000, 2000 and 3000mm are available from stock.
As the above example shows, shafts of larger diameters can also be made to order.
