Steinmeyer at MEDTEC Ireland 2007
Steinmeyer UK is showing its extensive range of high-quality miniature (3-16mm diameter) ball screws and linear stages at MEDTEC Ireland (stand 132) in Galway in September 2007.
Working closely with its customers, Steinmeyer specialises in providing tailored ball screws for a wide range of applications. Examples of these will be on show at MEDTEC. Steinmeyer's miniature ball screws, for example, can be used in a number of special environments such as cleanrooms, vacuums and high vacuums, and under radiation. Depending on the application, the ball screws can be made from different materials including standard carbon steel or different types of martensitic stainless steel.
Miniature ball screws made by Steinmeyer are often used as critical components of X-Y tables, manipulators, surgical robots, dosing and gauging equipment, respirators and scanners. Steinmeyer's experience in manufacturing precision measurement instruments provides a sound knowledge base, as these applications require extreme accuracy and reliablity. Furthermore the ball screws for these special applications have to emit very little noise.
Also on display will be examples of the Steinmeyer FMD (Feinmess) linear stages, capable of operating in nano movement ranges. Feinmess recently launched a new Nanometre Stage with long travels. The systems can be equipped with different encoders having a resolution of up to 5nm, enabling a repeatability of +/-10nm to be achieved.
