Combination packings continue to be standard specification for many valve stem sealing applications. Now, thanks to James Walker's sealing expertise, the performance envelope of combination packings has been improved significantly.
In James Walker's new Supagraf PremiPak, two of the company's class-leading fugitive emission control products are combined to provide a packing that conforms to the Shell material specification MESC SPE 85/203 and 85/204.
PremiPak combination sets comprise a top and bottom ring in Supagraf Premier braided material with three intermediate rings moulded in Supagraf graphite material.
Supagraf Premier is described as a 'best available technique (BAT) product' for reducing fugitive emissions in line with the European Union's IPPC Directive. The product is third-party verified to TA Luft standards for VOC emissions control and came top of its class in independent tests run on behalf of the CAPI Group (Akzo Nobel, Shell, Dow and DSM).
Moulded Supagraf rings are said to represent a major enhancement in the operational capabilities of graphite sealing rings, providing outstanding sealing performance over long adjustment-free periods, with excellent chemical resistance, low friction and high heat transfer.
James Walker Supagraf PremiPak combination sets are available as pre-formed endless or split rings.
