Unitemp is now offering a high-quality thermal shock chamber with humidity control that is manufactured by ESPEC corporation of Japan. Designed primarily for use within the automotive industry, it is suitable for testing integrated electronic equipment - or any other electronic devices that might be subject to changes in sudden temperature within humid environments.
Faults in vehicles electronics are often due to dew condensation, which causes corrosion, ion migration and malfunctions. The new thermal shock chamber with humidity control has been developed to enable dew condensation cycle tests to be run on vehicle electronics.
The equipment consists of two chambers, with the upper chamber being a temperature and humidity zone where both temperature and humidity can be controlled; dew condensation cycling tests can therefore be performed immediately after completion of a conventional thermal cycle test.
For thermal cycle tests the high temperature range is 70 to 150degC, while the low temperature range is -70 to +10degC. The dew cycle test temperature range is -10 to +100degC at 40 to 95 per cent RH. The temperature and humidity fluctuations are +/-1 degree and +/-5 per cent RH.
Controls are easy to see and operate, featuring an LCD with switches mounted on the right-hand side of the door. Internal dimensions are 650 x 460 x 670mm (WxHxD), the chamber weighs 550kg and it is mounted on castors to facilitate ease of movement.
This new range of thermal shock chambers with humidity control complements the extensive range of Unitemp test and monitoring chambers/ovens, and the company has the expertise to provide 'specials' to customers requirements.
