Two-component thermally conductive urethane-modified epoxy gel
Primarily used for potting and encapsulation applications, Master Bond Super Gel 9AO is a soft, urethane-modified gel-like epoxy that offers thermal conductivity and electrical insulation properties. This two-part system is also employed for bonding and sealing as it adheres well to a variety of substrates including metals, glass, ceramics and many rubbers and plastics.
With a low hardness of 20-30 Shore A, Super Gel 9AO is able to encapsulate sensitive electronic components. Expensive parts are retrievable by cutting the compound with a sharp knife or razor blade. This process can be conducted without the compound shattering. This softness allows it to withstand thermal cycling as well as thermal and mechanical shock. It is serviceable from -100degF to +200degF and resists chemicals such as water, oils and fuels.
Super Gel 9AO has a 2 to 1 mix ratio by weight or volume and has a low to moderate viscosity. This system offers a working life of 6-8 hours at room temperature, depending on the quantity that is mixed. It cures at room temperature with little exotherm, enabling it to be cast several inches thick.
This light grey-coloured system is available for use in standard packaging from half pints to 5 gallon container kits and in speciality packaging with gun dispensers and syringes.
