Offering improved performance, Printed Motor Works' range of internal rotor, brushless DC motors has been expanded and upgraded. The compact IR range now contains larger bearings for driving heavier loads and improved sealing performance to IP68.
Redesigned internally to use fewer parts, the motors have improved reliability and serviceability as well as increased resistance to shock and vibration. A high slot fill factor helps to give them excellent torque density.
The low-profile motors are now available in 20cm diameter versions as well as the existing 9cm and 16cm ranges, with a variety of standard windings and lengths.
Among the wide range of applications for the series are industrial automation and robotics, aerospace and defence robotics, paper handling and autonomous vehicle testing, as well as continuous duty equipment such as pumps.
Casings can be supplied in a variety of materials and finishes including stainless steel, making the motors suitable for use in wash-down environments such as in the food processing industry.
For non-standard specifications, PMW can customise the stack length and internal winding configuration. Efficiencies as high as 94 per cent at the customer's load point can easily be achieved. Parameters that can be optimised include speed, voltage, torque, efficiency, cogging torque and thermal performance.
The motors can be supplied with a range of options including hollow shafts, integrated gearboxes, optical encoders and brakes. More information can be found at www.printedmotorworks.com.
