USB3.0 super speed HD video streamer module for Sony FCB cameras
The Thunder Link TL6031 is a compact, easy-to-use HDTV USB3.0 video capture interface for the Sony FCB-EH/SE/EV block camera series and the FCB H11. The module enables the design of small camera systems that need only a single connection between camera and PC. Excellent output image quality is guaranteed as no analogue to digital conversion is performed on the module.
Supplied to Stemmer Imaging by video interface specialist Aivion, theTL6031 takes digital video signals and sends UVC (USB Video Class)-compliant data packets to a host computer. A single USB 3.0 cable is used for the video stream, control data and power.
Thunder Link is a family of small form factor modules for formatting and converting generic digital video streams to standard compliant formats. Different interface standards are supported from the transmitter side including DVI/HDMI, VGA, 3G-SDI, HD-SDI, SDI, CVBS and USB. Supported physical media are copper and fibre cables.
The modules connect to the digital video interface of Sony's FCB-H, FCB-EH and FCB-SE block cameras and support several progressive and interlace HDTV or SDTV formats. The TL6031 operates as USB device which sends UVC-compliant video data to a host PC. The host can control the TL6031 via a serial communication channel (USB UART). FCB cameras connected to the TL6031 can be controlled via a virtual COM port. Any host software which uses COM ports can be used. The USB UART channel is transparent for any protocol.
Video display and recording can be carried out on the host PC with standard application programs such as VLC player or Mplayer or similar.
