Vacon appoints new director of corporate communications
Vacon has appointed Sebastian Linko as its new Director of Corporate Communications as of 1 September 2008. Linko is responsible for Vacon Group's communications strategy and its implementation, including external and internal communications, media relations and crisis communications. Previously this position was held by Catarina Fant, who will now concentrate on Vacon's brand-building globally.
Heikki Hiltunen, Executive Vice President of Vacon, states: "Sebastian Linko has a wide experience in communications, and I believe he will be successful in his new position as Director, Corporate Communications at the rapidly growing and globally operating Vacon Group. Catarina Fant, our former brand and communications director, has moved to our subsidiary in the United States and concentrates on Vacon's brand-building globally. Brand-building is now especially important in North America after we acquired the AC drives business of the US-based TB Wood's in January 2008 and established a subsidiary in the United States."
Before joining Vacon, Sebastian Linko worked at Enfo Oyj, a Finnish Information Technology service provider, from 2002 to 2008. In the position of Communications Director at Enfo, Linko was responsible for external and internal communications, investor relations and international brand management. Linko has also experience in communications consulting and as a newspaper reporter.
