Video shows how easy it is to assemble an igus Delta robot

igus has produced a new video that shows how easy it is to assemble the company's new low-cost Delta robot. Very cost-effective, and quick and easy to implement, the Delta robot is available directly from stock as a kit or delivered pre-assembled ready-to-install. The lightweight, low-cost automation system is particularly suitable for simple assembly and pick & place tasks, as well as applications in test & measurement.

The video shows how easy the Delta robot is to assemble - an experienced engineer should be able to build one in about half an hour. Its maintenance-free belt drive units, lubrication-free link rods, encoders and NEMA stepper motors combine to ensure fast handling of up to 1kg with a precision of +/-0.5mm. The complete system has an installation space of up to 420mm in diameter and can carry up to 5kg at lower speeds. Depending on setup and requirements, pick rate is at least 60 per minute.
