Video shows linear guides following multi-radius curved paths

igus has released a video that beautifully illustrates what can be done with its drylin W linear guide system with curved rails.

Some demanding applications require curved rails, including stage or set sound and lighting equipment rigging systems, and control panels in studios, industrial plants or vehicle cabin interiors. For these environments, drylin W curved rails and guide carriages can prove very useful.

Floating spherical plain bearings in the sliding carriages are self-adjusting, automatically adapting to a range of rail bend radii (as tight as 250mm), and to different curve directions (horizontally, vertically or helically), as well as straight rails. An optional manual clamp is available if the carriage needs to be held in position.
