Wavo springs - a compact, accurate alternative to disc springs

TFC is now supplying Smalley Wavo Springs, which are described as an alternative to Belleville or disc springs, providing high loads but with an accurate, predictable spring rate and requiring a much smaller radial cavity. Single-turn Wavo springs are manufactured from round-section spring wire and have an axial wave form similar to that of conventional wave springs made of flat strip. Customers can specify either carbon steel or stainless steel.

Wavo springs are available in a wide range of sizes to operate in bore diameters of 0.5 inch to 6 inches (12.7-152mm) with working heights of 0.052-0.2inch (1.3-5.1mm) and loads of 35-470 lb (16kg or 160N to 213kg or 2100N).
