IMI has released a series of on-demand webinars, providing an overview of electric motion solutions so that engineers assessing their own application need can gain a better understanding of the product selection process and the primary technical considerations.
At a time when the demand for process automation and system flexibility is increasing alongside application complexity, correctly specified electric motion control solutions can deliver operational efficiencies and cost savings, as well as accuracy and repeatability benefits to optimise production and secure system control.
Electric motion system configuration must consider a wide range of parameters to produce a best-fit solution that meets application needs. The series of four short webinars provide an accessible and informed look at all the important aspects of electric motion solutions.
As well as an introduction to electric motion and its capabilities, the series covers drive and guide options, multi axis systems, and motors and controls.
Applicable to a wide range on industrial applications, IMI Norgren product experts take viewers through the main considerations of product specification and the system building blocks that can create a bespoke electric motion solution for individual application need.
In particular, the webinars outline how best to assess needs for rod-style electric cylinders, linear and multi axis systems and the multiple configurations available through the system building process. They also explain IMI technical support, and the methods used by the company's application engineers to collaborate with clients to understand the customer need and then recommend a product agnostic approach on which the appropriate system solution should be based.
Sinneli Jayampathy, Actuator Product Manager, EMEA for IMI, says: "With increasing time pressures on engineers, the ability to quickly access expert-led information to help with application need and system solution decision-making is more important than ever.
"Electric motion is central to many industrialised settings, helping to drive productivity and operational efficiencies, but it is essential that customers build the system that is right for them from the substantial number of potential solutions that are available. Our webinars are designed to assist with this journey and function as a stimulating starting point for those charged with delivering motion control solutions."
