WEG to exhibit motors for desalination and treatment industry
WEG will be attending IDA 2019, a global congress for the desalination and advanced treatment industry being held Dubai World Trade Center from 20-24 October. With desalination remaining an energy intensive process, the event enables the company to highlight the efficiency of its products for the desalination industry.
The theme of the 2019 congress is "Crossroads to Sustainability' - how the role of desalination needs to evolve with new technologies to ensure sustainability of water resources. This theme is pivotal to the varied discussions already taking place surrounding the growing demand for a sustainable source of fresh water in response to population growth, economic expansion, and degradation of existing resources, energy-water-food nexus, and the effects of climate change.
The technical speaker programme focuses on a broad range of desalination and water reuse technologies, practices and experiences, recognising that resources and requirements can vary based on local needs, climate conditions, natural resources, and locations.
Hosted by the Dubai Electricity and Water Authority, the event features four days of technical sessions, lectures, and workshops, and will include an open forum of roundtable-like discussions, a dialogue hall and, for the first time, a leader's summit.
