Belden is appointing Wolfgang Babel as Vice-President of Operations and President of Belden Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA). Dr Babel joined Belden in October 2007 as Managing Director of Belden Automation, comprising Hirschmann and Lumberg Automation. He also served as Managing Director of Endress + Hauser Conducta Gesellschaft fr Mess- und Regeltechnik mbH & Co in Gerlingen, Germany, designers and manufacturers of measurement equipment and process instrumentation. Previously he held progressively responsible positions with Diehl GmbH & Co, an electronics and munitions company. He has a Doctor of Engineering degree in information technology from the Friedrich-Alexander-Universitt in Nuremberg and a PhD in System Theory Mathematics from Columbia Pacific University, San Francisco.
