CAN FD bit-time setting rules

CAN in Automation (CiA) association has released the CiA 601-3 bit-time setting recommendation. The document provides rules and background information about the setting of bit-times in CAN FD networks. CAN FD is the successor of Classical CAN. Most of the OEMs are migrating to CAN FD in the next couple of years. The CiA 601-3 document comes with a spreadsheet to check, whether your selected bit-rates are possible.

EEF survey shows limited progress in adoption of Industry 4.0

Manufacturers are boosting investment in Industry 4.0 (also known as the fourth industrial revolution, 4IR) technologies, and there is new evidence that many companies have moved beyond the initial "˜conception' phase and into the "˜evolution' phase where they are seeing real benefits from their investments. This is according to a new 4IR fact card published today based on a survey of manufacturers by EEF, the manufacturers' organisation.

SKF improves rotating equipment performance

SKF is expanding and simplifying its software-as-a-service (SaaS) offering to help its customers and SKF service partners by focusing on increasing performance and productivity, while reducing the time spent working to identify complex equipment faults.
