Renishaw supports UK and India business ties

On 19 April 2018, Rhydian Pountney, Managing Director of Renishaw UK Sales Limited, attended the Access India event as part of the Make in India initiative. Set alongside a backdrop of the Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting in London, UK, the event gave British small and medium enterprises (SMEs) the opportunity to meet with large manufacturing businesses and government representatives, to facilitate bilateral investment and help SMEs to set up Indian manufacturing operations.

FLIR T500-Series receives "Red Dot: Best of the Best" 2018 Award

The FLIR T500-Series has been selected as a "Red Dot: Best of the Best" winner for 2018. The "Red Dot: Best of the Best" is awarded for groundbreaking product design and is given as the top prize for the best products in their category. As the second FLIR product to win the award in consecutive years, the T500-Series joins the FLIR Exx-Series as an outstanding professional tool recognised for superior design.

Phoenix Contact at PCB Design and Manufacture Live 2018

At this year's PCB Design & Manufacturing Live on the 10th of May at the National Motorcycle Museum, Phoenix Contact will be showcasing device connection technology. This year's highlights included the new TDPT TWIN design terminal blocks offering either push-in or screw connection in an identical package and suitable for currents up to 76 amps. The TWIN concept allows our customers to offer a choice of connection technology without changes to the PCB or enclosure.

Rockwell joins industry effort on OPC UA time-sensitive networks

Rockwell Automation is joining ABB, Belden, Bosch Rexroth, B&R, Cisco, Hilscher, KUKA, National Instruments, Parker Hannifin, Phoenix Contact, Pilz, Schneider Electric, TTTech, and WAGO (collectively known as Shapers) to create a communication system for real-time and sensor-to-cloud applications in industrial operations. The technology will be based on the OPC UA protocol, which allows easy and secure sharing of information across different vendor technologies, and the time-sensitive networking (TSN) suite of standards, which helps improve latency and robustness in converged industrial networks.

Hylec celebrates Debox S and SL in line junction box success

Hylec-APL is celebrating the success of its Debox in-line cable junction box, which has sold over 3.5 million units to date. Designed to make installers and contractors' lives easier and save hours of installation time by including everything installers need to join cables, the original Debox was launched in 2015, the brainchild of Hylec-APL CEO, Andy Hatter. The second generation Debox S and Debox SL followed in September 2016, the Debox SL being the UK's first-ever 100 per cent screwless junction box design. This innovative, maintenance-free cable junction box from Hylec suits internal applications, including ring main lighting, LED lighting and power. It is IP20 protected and meets GWT 650 degreeC testing and British Standard EN 60670-22 for electrical accessories for fixed electrical installations.

Spotlight on productive additive manufacturing at MACH 2018

At MACH 2018, held at the NEC in Birmingham, UK, from April 9th-13th, Renishaw showcased the benefits of its additive manufacturing products range to manufacturers. The company exhibited its additive manufacturing products and software in the 3D Printing Zone as well as a stand dedicated to its extensive range of metrology products. During MACH, Renishaw was visited by Sir Ben Ainslie, Team Principle and Skipper for the Land Rover BAR America's Cup team, who thanked Renishaw for its significant contribution to the team.
