Applied Automation: official UK robotics products distributors

Applied Automation is announcing that it is an official UK distributor of products from OptoForce, On Robot and EasyRobotics. These companies produce products that work with the Universal Robots collaborative robot arms, which Applied Automation is an existing UK "˜preferred partner'.

ESAB partners with PGS for CP7 gas equipment inspector training

ESAB is entering into a partnering with Proactive Gas Safety Ltd (PGS) for the provision of Oxy-Fuel CP7 Inspector courses, with successful candidates being awarded a nationally accredited EAL (Excellence in Achievement LTD) Level 3 QCF Qualification (Qualifications and Credit Framework) This is the highest level of achievement available for compressed gas safety training in the UK and qualifies individuals to undertake annual inspections of oxy-acetylene/propane equipment as required by BCGA CP7 (British Compressed Gases Association Code of Practice 7).

Bio-inspired robots from Festo: rolling spider & flying fox

Festo has unveiled two new lightweight robotic concepts, inspired by nature. The BionicWheelBot and BionicFlyingFox are this year's creations from the company's Bionic Learning Network, where Festo's experts looked at the motion of spiders and bats to navigate complex situations - from crossing rocky terrain to learning efficient flight paths.
