New surge protectors for linear DC current sources

NSK in-wheel motor charges wirelessly while in motion

NSK has developed the third generation of its in-wheel motor, the world's first design of its type to feature a complete package comprising motor, inverter and wireless charging unit. The innovative wireless in-wheel motor (W-IWM) for the electric vehicle (EV) market is capable of charging from coils embedded in the road, while in motion. Development of the latest unit was conducted jointly by a research group comprising NSK, the Fujimoto Laboratory at the University of Tokyo's Graduate School of Frontier Sciences, Bridgestone Corporation, ROHM Co Ltd and Toyo Electric Mfg Co Ltd.

Toshiba Machine enters the market for collaborative robots

Toshiba Machine is launching two new collaborative robots at the International Robot Exhibition (IREX) - the world's leading robot show, held at the Tokyo Big Sight, Japan on Wednesday 18 to Sunday 22 December 2019. Expanding on the company's extensive range of industrial robots, the announcement was supported by the company's official robot distributor for EMEA and America, TM Robotics.

Lenze launches decentralised i500 frequency inverters

The successful i500 frequency inverter range now also has a decentralised variant. Well-protected with IP66 and well-connected with IO-Link, the i550 protec sets out to conquer the wide range of decentralised drive tasks. Lenze will start by marketing this new series with a power range of up to 2.2kW and has planned the phased expansion up to 75kW.

TDK-Lambda adds ModBUS-TCP option to programmable power supplies

TDK Corporation is introducing a ModBUS TCP interface option to the GENESYS+ series of programmable DC power supplies. The option is available on all models ranging from the 1U high half rack GH1.5kW to the 3U high full rack GSP15kW. The industry standard ModBUS-TCP protocol is used for transmission of information between electronic devices for the supervision and control of automation equipment. This GENESYS+ option allows users to remotely program, measure and check status of the power supply by sending information using a TCP/IP protocol over a ModBUS TCP network.
