Helical worm gear unit made from high-strength aluminium alloy

Nord Drivesystems has thoroughly redesigned its two-stage SK 02040.1 helical worm gear unit. The new SK 02040.1, made from high-strength aluminium alloy, replaces the previous cast iron product. The one-piece die cast Unicase housing guarantees maximum strength and rigidity with low weight. In addition, aluminium is considerably more corrosion-resistant than steel and can be further protected with the aid of additional measures such as the highly effective nsd tupH surface treatment.

OMC's new high-brightness purple LED creates new opportunities

OMC is launching a new high brightness purple surface-mount LED lamp featuring the company's proprietary Active Diffuser Technology, which produces a far richer and more efficient output than traditional single-wavelength devices. The vibrant output and ease of driving of the new purple LED SMD lamp makes it well suited for applications such as backlighting, mood-lighting, displays and status indication on items such as front panels and keypads, as well as signalling and industrial electronics. Designated LPRM3268X3, this new SMD lamp requires very low current, has a compact footprint of only 3.2mm by 2.8mm, and a depth of 1.9mm, with the industry-standard PLCC package.

Cost-effective WG20 series geared motors with ATEX certification

WEG is unveiling new ATEX-certified geared motors in the WG20 series with output power from 0.12 to 30kW and energy efficiency class up to IE3 at this year's ACHEMA trade fair. The geared motors are certified in accordance with Directive 2014/34/EU as explosion-proof for zone 2 (gas; groups IIA, IIB and IIC) or zone 22 (dust; groups IIIA, IIIB and IIIC).

FLEX I/O platform supports real-time intelligent process control

The new Allen-Bradley FLEX 5000 I/O platform from Rockwell Automation can create smarter, more productive and more flexible industrial control systems. The platform's higher-speed connectivity and expanded bandwidth deliver increased amounts of data back to the controller. This helps future-proof control systems for a Connected Enterprise. It is built on a 1 Gigabit architecture with communications supporting Device Level Ring (DLR), linear and star topologies. A future release will support Parallel Redundancy Protocol (PRP) for a redundant network topology.

ESD protection series for USB Type-C interfaces from Nexperia

Nexperia has optimised its TrEOS ESD protection diode series for use with USB Type-C interfaces. The new USB3.2 standard introduces an optional capacitor at the Rx inputs, so Nexperia is now launching two groups of devices, one that delivers very high surge robustness for positioning between the connector and capacitor, and a second that has a very low trigger voltage for placement between capacitor and the system chip.

Belleville washers: ex-stock or custom from Lee Spring

Lee Spring is promoting its complete package ex-stock or custom Belleville washers, which are often used to solve vibration, thermal expansion, relaxation and bolt creep problems. Their conical configuration enables them to support high loads with relatively small deflections and solid heights compared with helical springs. Belleville washers may also be used as locking devices in applications with low dynamic loads.
