WEG inverters and motors play role in reducing emissions

E.ON has guaranteed the future viability of its Ratcliffe-on-Soar coal-fired power station by installing a new selective catalytic reduction (SCR) emission control facility to reduce emissions. Driving the SCR process, which uses ammonia to neutralise nitrogen oxide (NOx) in exhaust gases, are eight highly efficient WEG 4300kW MGF710 motors equipped with state-of-the-art variable speed drives (VSDs).

Water wheel bearings improve efficiency and reliability

For any power generation project, efficiency and reliability are two very important characteristics. So, when a 2 star Michelin restaurant in Belgium decided to refurbish its water wheel generator, it needed to source new bearings. With such close proximity to water, the new bearings would also require excellent sealing properties, which led to the installation of a Revolvo split roller bearing (SRB).

Formed in 2010 by Keele University Professors Jon Dobson and Alicia J El Haj, the spin-out Company has developed a "˜mechanical conditioning bioreactor' to support a patented technology invented at Keele's Institute of Science and Technology in Medicine (ISTM).

Flexicon pumps used to dose small volumes of liquid vitamins

Technikon Laboratories, based in the Florida district of Johannesburg, South Africa, has installed four Flexicon PD12I peristaltic fillers with an MC12 controller from Flexicon Liquid Filling part of the Watson-Marlow Pumps Group. The fillers are used to fill a liquid vitamin energy supplement into stick-packs.
