New dates for Certified Machinery Safety Expert training course

CMSE is an internationally recognised qualification in machinery safety, specifically developed by Pilz to provide expert-level training on an international basis. The course is certified by TUV NORD, enabling those who successfully complete the training to demonstrate their competence through an internationally recognised qualification with independent certification.

Martin Palmer, the Training Manager at Pilz Automation, comments: "Since its launch in 2013 the course has gone from strength to strength and is the leading international qualification in machinery safety. Pilz, in conjunction with TUV NORD, are now offering the CMSE training programme in more than 20 countries and in 10+ languages, certifying over 800 people a year."

Pilz Automation will run the courses from its UK office in Corby, Northamptonshire, scheduled as follows during the second half of 2017:

• August 14-17
• September 18-21
• October 23-26
• November 20-23
• December 11-14

The CMSE course is primarily aimed at design engineers, project engineers, safety engineers and development engineers from the field of automation technology, as well as maintenance engineers and industrial engineers. Divided into five modules, the course includes the following topics:

• Safety fundamentals and responsibilities
• Safety legislation
• Machinery standards and regulations
• Risk assessment and risk reduction
• Physical guarding
• Safety components
• Electrical safety
• Functional safety of control systems, pneumatic systems and hydraulic systems
