EN62443 is designed to help all industries be more resilient to cyber attack or outside interference, and few organisations are better placed than leading machinery safety and security experts Pilz at helping machine builders and users build knowledge of both the subject itself as well as the Standard. To help machine builders and operators better understand EN62443 "Security for industrial and automation systems", two recent developments have just been announced. The first is that Pilz's Product Development guru Frank Eberle has put together a White Paper on the subject, which may be viewed here.
The second development of note is that to complement the (free) availability of this useful White Paper, Pilz has also announced an associated webinar on the subject of EN62443, for which registration is free. It takes place at 0930 BST on Friday 9th October. Cyber security is a serious business for all of us in different ways, but for machine builders and industries using automation the effects of a cyber attack clearly have the potential to be catastrophic: so reading up on the subject via the new White Paper and participating in the webinar could prove very interesting. MachineBuilding.net readers can register for the webinar here.
