Northern Manufacturing & Electronics makes a welcome return to EventCity, Manchester from October 2nd to 3rd. Following a similar format to the ever-popular Southern Manufacturing Show, the wide-ranging portfolio of components, production hardware and engineering services being showcased makes it a useful event for designers, procurement professionals and engineers from across the North. The previous show attracted over 3,000 visitors from a wide range of industries.

Hose sample packs ensure pumped fluid compatibility

Watson-Marlow Fluid Technology Group (WMFTG) is now offering a unique way of matching Bredel hose material to the actual fluid being pumped, an activity that, if completed correctly, is proven to reduce costs. WMFTG has made available five new hose material immersion sample packs for Bredel and APEX pump users, a move that is thought to be an industry first.

Machinery Directive revision - public consultation on proposals

The European Commission is planning to update the Machinery Directive to improve safety and take account of the latest innovations, particularly in terms of information technology. The EC's proposed revision aligns the Machinery Directive with EU harmonised legislation on product health and safety, and also tackles the challenges that may arise from technical progress in digitisation.

Pickering Electronics to debut 10W reed relay at Semicon West

Pickering Electronics will debut a new 10W member of its successful 4mm2TM product family in Booth 5656 at the Semicon West exhibition. Like other reed relays in the family, new Series 122 devices occupy a PCB footprint of only 4mm × 4mm, facilitating the highest packing density currently available. Series 122 relays measure 12.5mm in height and are rated with a switching current of 0.5A at 10W. 3V and 5V coils are available.

Ahead of Earth Overshoot Day this July 29, Schneider Electric announces its commitment to promote one-planet compatibility as the necessary framework for long-term business success. Schneider Electric's breakthrough White Paper, published on July 29, lays out the detailed approach and supporting metric for one-planet compatibility and humanity's prosperity. It was developed in partnership with Global Footprint Network, the international sustainability organisation that pioneered the Ecological Footprint.
